SUBSTANCE ABUSE & WOMEN

Understanding Drug & Alcohol Addiction

Addiction is a disease and it takes many forms. When someone has an addiction, they will do anything in their power to feed that addiction. In essence, their brains view that addictive substance as something that is necessary for life. There are many signs that someone has an addiction to alcohol and drugs. Some of the most common symptoms include:

Dependence: If someone is addicted to alcohol or drugs, they have a dependence on that substance. One of the biggest signs of dependence is the development of withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal occurs when someone goes for an extended period of time without the substance with which they have the addiction. Some of the most common symptoms of withdrawal include shakes, sweats, fevers, and even seizures.

Tolerance:  Another common sign of addiction is the development of a phenomenon called tolerance. Tolerance takes place when the body gets used to having that substance in its system. In essence, someone needs more of the substance to achieve the same physical effects, such as a high. This is what makes addiction so dangerous. The more someone has to take to achieve the intended effects, the greater chance there is of someone overdosing. This can lead to serious medical complications.

Substance abuse is a serious problem for everyone, including women. Fortunately, there are a few key components of addiction treatment that can be helpful.

WHY DO I NEED REHAB?

The Benefits of an Addiction Treatment Facility
for Women

At Anchored Tides Recovery, our goal is to provide every woman with the addiction treatment she requires. There are a number of important components to our addiction treatment program. These include:

Overcoming Withdrawal: The first step is to get someone clean. This means removing any and all traces of alcohol or drugs from the system. We are here to help someone get through the first phase of recovery, which means overcoming withdrawal. After the withdrawal has finished, the true recovery process can begin.

Staying Clean: Once someone has cleared any alcohol and drugs from his or her system, the next step is to stay clean. At Anchored Tides Recovery, we work hard to identify what drove the client to addictive behaviors in the first place. Then, by removing these causes, we can help someone stay clean.

At Anchored Tides Recovery, we marry these two concepts to create a comprehensive and well-rounded treatment program. To that end, we have a variety of programs to help women on the road to recovery from substance abuse.

WOMEN'S ADDICTION TREATMENT PROGRAM

How Our Women's Addiction Treatment Center Can Help

At Anchored Tides Recovery, our addiction treatment programs include:

Partial Hospitalization Program

Our women’s partial hospitalization program is a major component of what we do. In PHP, clients will spend the vast majority of the day on-site. This is a blend between an inpatient program and an outpatient schedule. Using group therapy, counseling, and other tools, we will help patients take their first steps toward sobriety.

Intensive Outpatient Program

We also offer an intensive outpatient program in Orange County. This program is more involved than typical outpatient treatment, allowing someone to get the required level of attention they need, but still attend to outside commitments.

Outpatient Program

We provide an Orange County outpatient program that allows our women to tailor their treatment plans to meet their own individual needs. We offer one-on-one counseling, group therapy, and a variety of behavioral programs to help someone remain sober.

Sober Living

Once someone has achieved sobriety, the next step is long-term recovery. This is the goal behind sober living. With long-term recovery monitoring, Anchored Tides Recovery will provide women with the tools necessary to remain free from substance abuse.
