The Setting

Why Huntington Beach Works for Women in Treatment

Outpatient care asks you to show up for treatment and then return home, to work, or to your children the same day. A central Huntington Beach location keeps that commute manageable for women living across west Orange County and the Long Beach area, so treatment fits into a life that is still moving.

The coast is part of how we work, too. Our Adventure Therapy programming (formerly called Surf Therapy) uses the beach and outdoor experiences to build grounding, confidence, and connection, and you choose your own level of comfort. You can read how it works in our overview of adventure therapy at Anchored Tides.

Most of all, the setting is calm and women-only. A room made up of other women can make it easier to speak openly about substance use, trauma, and the relationships around them, which is why every part of our program is built for women.

Admissions

How Admissions Works at Our Huntington Beach Center

Starting care here is a conversation, not an application. Our admissions process follows five steps.

  • 24/7admissions line
  • 5steps to your first day
  • ~24 hrstypical insurance check on business days
  1. Step 1

    Make the first call:

Talk with our admissions team about what's happening and what you need right now.

  2. Step 2

    Complete a clinical assessment:

A clinician reviews substance use, mental health, and trauma history to understand fit.

  3. Step 3

    Verify your insurance:

Most results come back within 24 hours on business days, and some return the same day.

  4. Step 4

    Review your recommendation:

We recommend a level of care, and it can change as your needs change.

  5. Step 5

    Begin your first day:

You'll complete paperwork, meet your therapist, and go home that evening.

On your first day, bring your insurance card and photo ID, current medications in their original pharmacy bottles, a written list of medications and prescribers, and contact details for your doctor, therapist, and an emergency contact.
