Our clinical foundation

The Trauma-Informed Foundation

For many women in addiction or mental health recovery, untreated trauma is the engine running underneath everything else. Substance use, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and relational patterns are often expressions of unresolved traumatic experience. Trauma-informed care at Anchored Tides means EMDR as the primary processing modality, pacing that respects clinical readiness, and safety and choice as foundational principles — not as marketing language, but as clinical orientation applied across every session and every level of care.

Why women-only

Women-Only Programming — A Clinical Choice

Anchored Tides treats only women — not as a demographic preference, but as a clinical model. Women's addiction has distinct drivers: trauma overlap, telescoping progression, relational patterns, and hormonal factors. Women's group therapy goes deeper when these specific clinical patterns can be addressed directly, without mixed-gender dynamics.

Research consistently shows higher treatment retention, better engagement, and improved long-term outcomes for women in gender-specific programs.

Not just addiction

Mental Health Track — No Substance Use Required

You don't need an active substance use disorder to access Anchored Tides. The Mental Health track provides the same trauma-informed, evidence-based clinical model for women whose primary need is depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, or eating concerns. The same team, the same fidelity, the same women-only environment.
