How insurance covers addiction treatment — what's included, what to verify, and how to use your benefits.

“ATR has been a wonderful organization to work with. I've partnered with them on many occasions on behalf of my own clients. They're trustworthy, ethical and provide excellent clinical care to the women they serve.”
Many insurance plans cover an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for women when it's medically necessary, though benefits vary by plan and network status. Some plans require preauthorization before treatment begins. A confidential verification of benefits is the most reliable way to learn what your plan covers.
IOP offers structured therapy several days a week while you live at home and keep up with work, school, or family. Our women's intensive outpatient program in Huntington Beach is built around those responsibilities.
Most commercial insurance plans can cover a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) when a clinical assessment shows it's medically necessary. Plans often require preauthorization and ongoing utilization review, and your out-of-pocket costs depend on your deductible, copay or coinsurance, and plan network. Verifying your benefits confirms what your plan includes before care begins.
PHP is a structured, day-treatment level of care, a step up in support from IOP without an overnight stay. Our women's partial hospitalization program combines trauma-informed, women-only care with a schedule that lets you return home each evening.
