What We Treat · Women’s Only
Every woman arrives with a unique story. We treat the full picture — addiction, trauma, mental health, and everything in between.
Call (866) 329-6639“One of the things I appreciate most about Anchored Tides is the skillful care in which they hold all of their clients. I don't know how they have managed to find an entire team that sees into the deep dignity of every person they treat - this includes strong boundaries and creates a stable and safe environment for healing.”
Anchored Tides Recovery is a women-only treatment center in Huntington Beach, California, treating substance use disorders alongside the mental health conditions that frequently appear with them.
Our clinical model integrates both pictures — addiction and co-occurring mental health — from the assessment forward, rather than treating them as separate problems. Across our continuum of care, we treat five substance use categories and five co-occurring mental health conditions, with care tailored to women navigating these conditions in the context of trauma, relationships, and life responsibilities.
We’re female-founded and female-led, Joint Commission accredited under DHCS License #300386AP, with on-site psychiatric care led by Venice Sanchez, MD, board-certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine.

How to use this page
Substance Use covers the substances we treat clinically. Co-Occurring covers the mental health conditions that frequently appear alongside substance use — and that we also treat on their own, without substance use, through our mental health track. If you’re not sure which applies, the assessment process sorts that out. Most women come in unsure.
Substance Use
Five categories, treated as part of our outpatient continuum. Care plans are built individually after a confidential clinical assessment.
AUD treatment for women, from high-functioning daily drinking to severe alcohol use disorder.
Heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioid dependence — with Medication-Assisted Treatment available when clinically indicated.
Cocaine, methamphetamine, and prescription stimulants like Adderall.
Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin — tapering and dependence treatment with clinical supervision.
Multiple substances used together — a pattern we see often in the women we treat.
Co-Occurring Mental Health Conditions
Treated in our dual diagnosis track when paired with substance use, or independently through our women’s mental health track.
Generalized anxiety, panic, and social anxiety — treated alongside substance use or on its own.
Major depression, persistent depression, and postpartum depression — clinical care for women.
Complex trauma and PTSD treated with EMDR and trauma-focused therapy.
Specialist clinical track with Registered Dietitian support, alongside addiction or mental health work.
Ongoing clinical support for Bipolar I and II as part of integrated treatment. Psychiatric medication management led by Venice Sanchez, MD, board-certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine.
Not sure which condition you’re navigating?
Our admissions team handles the placement decision with you, based on a confidential clinical assessment and a benefits check. There’s no commitment to anything before that.

Why we treat both together
Most women who come to Anchored Tides aren’t navigating just one column. Substance use often runs alongside anxiety, depression, PTSD, or disordered eating. For many women, mental health symptoms came first — and substance use started as a way to manage them.
Treating one without the other tends to leave the underlying picture unaddressed, which is why our dual diagnosis track → integrates both from the assessment forward.
How our approach is different
Every clinical decision, every group, every aftercare plan is built around what works for women — not retrofitted from a co-ed model. Joint Commission accredited and licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services (#300386AP).
PHP, IOP, and outpatient care — all in one program, all built for women.
Not a bolt-on. The full clinical model treats trauma as foundational.
Both pictures treated together from the assessment forward, with on-site psychiatric care.

We treat the combinations that women actually present with — most often one or two substance use concerns alongside one or two mental health conditions. The dual diagnosis track integrates both into a single treatment plan from the assessment forward.
The terms refer to the same picture: a substance use disorder and a mental health condition occurring together in the same person. Both phrases describe what we treat in our dual diagnosis track.
Yes. Our mental health track is built for women whose primary concern is mental health, with or without substance use in the picture. The clinical assessment determines the right starting point.
We treat disordered eating across our outpatient continuum, with a Registered Dietitian on staff. Women who need higher levels of medical stabilization first may be referred to specialty partners for that level of care, then continue clinical work with us.
Yes. Anchored Tides Recovery is a women-only program. Every group, every clinical decision, every aftercare plan is built for women. Trauma-informed care is woven through the full continuum rather than offered as an add-on.
In most cases, yes. We work with most major PPO plans, and our admissions team can verify your specific benefits confidentially.
