What to Expect in Our Women’s PHP

UNDERSTANDING TREATMENT FOR ADDICTION
What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
A Partial Hospitalization Program—often referred to as structured day treatment—offers the clinical intensity of inpatient care with the flexibility of returning home at the end of the day. Despite its name, PHP is not hospital-based. It’s a supportive, community-oriented environment where women engage in daily therapy, evidence-based skills work, and holistic healing.
PHP helps you:
- Stabilize emotions and behaviors
- Strengthen coping and relapse-prevention skills
- Re-establish structure and daily routines
- Receive support for co-occurring mental health needs
- Build confidence before transitioning to IOP or outpatient care
Women in PHP benefit from a clinically guided schedule that blends therapeutic depth with real-world application.
Looking for a step-down from detox, inpatient treatment, or residential program? PHP is the ideal transition between 24/7 care and independent living. Call 866-329-6639 today for more information.
Inside Our Women’s PHP Schedule
Our PHP meets Monday–Friday from 8:30 AM–3:00 PM and includes:

One-on-one sessions using CBT, DBT, EMDR, and trauma-focused modalities help you process emotions, rewrite patterns, and build practical tools for daily life.
Trauma-Informed Group Therapy
Group sessions focus on emotional regulation, boundaries, relationship dynamics, relapse prevention, communication skills, and grounding techniques.
Holistic Healing Practices
Women participate in yoga, movement, mindfulness training, guided meditation, and nutrition-focused support to reconnect the mind and body.
Life Skills + Recovery Integration
We help you apply recovery skills to real-life situations—work, relationships, stressors, and daily responsibilities.
Collaborative Treatment Planning
We communicate with referring residential or detox facilities, outpatient therapists, and family members (as appropriate) to ensure continuity of care.

RECOVERY DOESN'T STOP HERE
How PHP Fits Into Levels of Care
Anchored Tides Recovery provides a full continuum designed exclusively for women:
- PHP (highest outpatient level) → daily full-day treatment
- IOP (step-down level) → fewer hours, structured groups + therapy
- Outpatient (OP) → ongoing maintenance and support
- Specialized services: trauma therapy, EMDR, DBT, holistic care, family support
PHP often serves as the stabilizing foundation for safe transition into IOP and long-term outpatient healing.
Relapse Prevention
How PHP Helps Women Prevent Relapse
After—or before—a relapse, many women need structured, intensive support to stabilize emotionally and physically. Our Women’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a higher level of care designed to interrupt relapse patterns and address the underlying issues that contribute to them.
PHP offers daily clinical structure, trauma-informed therapy, psychiatric support, and guided relapse prevention planning. This level of care is especially effective for women experiencing:
- Severe cravings or emotional instability
- Repeated relapse cycles
- Withdrawal-adjacent symptoms
- Stress or trauma triggers
- Co-occurring mental health challenges
In PHP, We Help You:
- Build a personalized relapse prevention plan
- Understand and manage emotional relapse stages
- Strengthen coping skills
- Rebuild structure and accountability
- Address trauma and mental health drivers
- Create a sustainable transition plan into IOP or OP
PHP is often the best starting point for women who recently relapsed or feel close to relapse and need comprehensive stabilization.
Need Support After a Relapse? You’re Not Alone.
Most women who relapse aren’t “starting over”—they’re experiencing a natural part of the recovery cycle. What matters most is the support you get now.
At Anchored Tides Recovery, we offer three levels of outpatient care designed specifically for women:
-
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
For women who need structure, stabilization, and trauma-informed support after a relapse. -
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
For women who want to regain stability while maintaining daily responsibilities. -
Outpatient Program (OP)
For women rebuilding confidence and strengthening relapse prevention skills.

The Transitional Phase: A Critical Step for Women in Recovery
Between residential treatment and full independence lies what many call “the gray zone.” It’s a vulnerable stage—clients are physically stable but still emotionally raw. Without consistent support, relapse, anxiety, or depression can resurface.
Our PHP serves as a safety net during this stage, offering:
- Structure without confinement: Women attend daily sessions and return home each evening.
- Accountability without judgment: Daily check-ins maintain progress and encourage honest reflection.
- Healing without isolation: A women-only environment ensures safety, understanding, and connection.
Women balancing motherhood, career, or caregiving roles often find PHP to be the perfect balance.
Each day reinforces that recovery doesn’t mean withdrawing from life—it means learning to live it differently, with clarity and self-compassion.

- Identify and manage triggers before they escalate.
- Address trauma that contributes to substance use.
- Rebuild structure and consistency for long-term sobriety.

Common Challenges in Early Recovery
- Balancing parenting or work while focusing on healing.

Our PHP provides the structure, empathy, and repetition needed to navigate these challenges successfully. By combining daily therapy, peer accountability, and holistic wellness, women learn that recovery is not about punishment—it’s about purpose.
For professionals, PHP serves as a continuum of care that reinforces relapse-prevention tools while helping clients transition confidently toward independence.
PHP for Mental Health Disorders
Not every woman in our program struggles with addiction—many seek support for mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. These conditions often become magnified during transitions, life stress, or after major loss.
Anchored Tides’ PHP provides daily therapy and structured stability for women working to manage symptoms and rebuild confidence.
We Support Women Managing:
- Anxiety and Panic Disorders – Calming the nervous system and learning grounding skills.
- Depression and Mood Disorders – Replacing hopelessness with achievable daily goals.
- Trauma and PTSD – Using EMDR and DBT to process memories without retraumatization.
- Bipolar or Borderline Personality Disorders – Developing emotional regulation and routine.
- Co-Occurring Disorders – Treating mental health and substance use simultaneously.
How PHP Supports Emotional Recovery

TAKE ONE STEP AT A TIME
How PHP Builds a Foundation for Long-Term Recovery

- Structure: predictable days, consistent therapy, and supportive accountability.
- Skill Mastery: practicing coping tools before real-life stressors arise.
- Community: peer connection that replaces isolation with purpose.
- Confidence: measurable progress that restores self-esteem and self-trust.
As the holidays approach, maintaining structure becomes even more important. PHP helps women stay grounded through seasonal transitions that can trigger emotional relapse.

STORIES OF RECOVERY
I would highly recommend anchored tides! I was a client at anchored tides for almost a year and it was such an amazing place to be and played a major part in my recovery. First the owners Becca and Amy are such amazing women who truly care about helping women and run an honest recovery center with great therapists, case managers & staff. This place helped me integrate back into life and always encouraged me throughout the time I was there. I now have almost 18 months sober and am truly blessed by the life I have today and a HUGE thank you goes out to achored tides and all that they did to help to get me where I am at today. I truly couldn’t not say enough good things about this place or the amount of love that I have for everyone here!

What an amazing place Anchored Tides is. As Amy explained when we first visited, girls and women are an afterthought in many treatment programs, which often are founded and structured for boys and men. Anchored Tides’ holistic approach to ALL of the co-existing issues that girls and women face is groundbreaking, and so appreciated. They are wonderful people who do inspiring work and make the world a better place every day. I highly recommend their sober living and IOP. The founders have crucial and relevant lived experiences and care deeply, and they are amazing role models for all the women help.
