Can I Detox at Home?
Detoxing at home is not recommended for several reasons. First, detoxing is a delicate process. In some instances, it can even be life-threatening. If you have underlying medical issues, you can also face complications.
When you detox at home, the cause or reason for the initial drug addiction is not treated. This can lead to a relapse. To get the most out of detoxification, you should join a detox program.

The Process Of Detoxification
Evualation/Examination
The patient is completely screened at this stage. An evaluation of their mental and physical condition takes place. This also includes their medical history.
Finally, blood tests are taken to know the drug dosage present in the body. The doctor can then prescribe the right medications and treatment plan.
Stabilization
The stabilization phase, as the name implies, stabilizes the patient. The medical team combines psychological and medical therapy during this process.
Other medications can also be prescribed to reduce withdrawal symptoms during this period.
This phase focuses on reducing complications that might arise during the detox program.
Preparing Entry Into Treatment
Finally, the patient is eased into a treatment plan or program. During this stage, the patient is made aware of what to expect during treatment.
Once the treatment program commences, the detox process is complete.
